  Daniel Pinkwater has written lots of books, and most of the characters in those books are based on real people he has known. Could he possibly have known someone as unusual as Mrs. Noodlekugel? Well . . . he has met some very unusual people. Daniel Pinkwater lives on a cute little farm in New York State, and writes, and writes, and writes, because it is so much fun.

  Adam Stower has illustrated many books for children and has written some, too. About Mrs. Noodlekugel, he says, “Mrs. Noodlekugel reminds me of my grandma Norah. She was wonderful. She always baked lemon-curd tarts and gingerbread men for us. Although hers didn’t come to life. Well, not always.” Adam Stower lives and works in Brighton, England.
